Theatre of Tragedy: Aegis

Review By: Azriel K.

Every so often an album is released that shows the amazing depth of just how far music can go as far as beauty, creativity, genius.
Aegis, in my opinion is that album, showing the diversity in the way music can make you feel in each and every song. Some did complain that Raymond's vocals took a turn for the worse, the fact that he was no longer "growling" but this may have been in fact a step in the right direction, the metaphor that Theatre of Tragedy gets so often "A battle between heaven and hell" still suits. Some fans may argue, but this is the embodiment of Theatre of Tragedy, their sound refined, and definite signs of improvement and progress compared to their previous albums.
Aegis has a theme; all the songs are women's names. Cassandra, Angelique, Venus, etc. I have made fans of this band by playing this album to people. The music will help you build memories and expand your mind on what you think the limits of music are. And so far, I have never heard anything better than Aegis.
