R.N. Atrophy: Broken

Review By: Azriel K.

One faithful Friday the 13th last October (oh my goth) I had made plans to see a local band. At this point I was still running Knightimes and planned on having the chance to interview them, if I could. I had heard their mp3's "Broken and "Sink to Swim" really enjoyed them and looked forward to seeing them live.
They played great! In fact I would have to say that overall they played live better than Danzig when he was in town. The friends I brought thought the same thing, so I figured it was only fair to have an immortal copy of that music.
The recording quality on this album is probably the only problem I have with it, but for a local band it's enough. A lot of time was spent on the cover, it looks really well done, couldn't stop looking at the thing :)
Most of the chorus's have a nice rhythm to it, and the lyrics are well thought out, the best songs on here? Defiantly Half Awake, Mission, Broken and Sink to Swim. The genre, in my opinion sounds like a cross between punk and metal, decent female vocals but nothing spectacular.
R.N. Atrophy are a good solid band, and they are only getting better

R.N. Atrophy is available at West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta and in any other HMV in Canada by ordering it. You can also e-mail the band themselves to get yourself a copy.
