Cut Rate Box'es 4th CD & last cd since the closure of local Gashed Records.

I was pleasanty surprised with this cd to say the least. CRB did not overly impress me before. Their most recent release New Religion made me feel like they incorporated too many other sounds to really have one to define as their own. The new cd seems to focus around the way the world is becoming and how we as people are affected by the big companies or money facilities of the world. This I'm assuming is his personal views on life and what is happening in the world and quite an interesting view.

With their new cd released carrying 11 new songs and a remix by Assemblage 23 and a new commer band called Torrent Vaccine. The cd comes across much better this time around. The most noticeable changes is they've altered their vocals slightly, which i personally like much more and have become more dancier (ebmish). Because of the vocals alot of the songs seem to sound as if they have a more grandeur feel to them. The music also seems to be growing more towards a EBM sound rather then the SKuppy / Numb sound it had previously. Because of this, a wider audience will accept them into the fold, especially in North America.

My personal favorites off this cd are Thin Ice, Zionsank (a23 mix) and Ego. The A23 mix is no disappointment as it has a massive sounding choral effects and sing along feel. Thin Ice has great lyrics and piercing beats great to start up the dance floor. These are just a few of the songs I like as I've enjoyed the whole CD immensly which couldn't have been said for previous releases.
