Hocico - Signos De Abberacion
Release Date: Feb 2002 Crazy Mexicans is what we call them on effnet. A group that has yet to put out a cd that I dislike. Racso Agroyam and Erk Aicrag, both hailing from the streets of Mexico emerged in 1993 as Hocico, a hard electro act that lashes out against many factions including personal, politcal and religous. Hocico has had a fast rise in the industrial scene with their own unique sound leading the front line. This should come as no surprise for hardcore electro fans as the band is constantly changing and revolving their sound. Their constant experimentation allows them to stay ahead of alot of average electro bands well offering a solid base for fans to flock to. This is their 6th full cd and in perfect follow up to last years Untold Blaspehmies ep. This cd contains 11 tracks all of which is new material. This is a band that uses both Mexican and English vocals to plaster their distorted electro vocals over. The music itself consists of heavy beats, high pitch/treble, melodic clips of guitar and a nice asortment of wind instruments. The opening track starts off with some mixed sampling from several movies and is quite a nice match. It basicallys sets the pace for the cd by changing rythms and beats several times throughout the song creating a dark and fast paced mood. The cd as per custom to Hocico, usually builds up an electro rythm and then mellows out into some instrumental only pieces at which point it goes right back full force. This seems to be a trademark with Hocico as most cds they put out contain several instrumentals each as well as the pulsating electro that everyone has been accustomed too. If you need something to stomp to or just change the mood in your listening area Hocico can more then do it for you. Overall this cd is extremely similar to any other Hocico cd but is still a decent cd by all means. If your a fan its a must buy, if its your first cd then you'll be more then impressed with it.
